TOY FIREHARMS

We do not believe there is a need for them when confronting dragons or learning about the past; we have no plans to make mock firearms in the future.

Quality, Care and Ethics

Made To Care, Meant To Last - Eight Key Points When Considering Our Toys

NOT ANOTHER THIRD WORLD IMPORT

But made almost completely by hand in the Wyle Valley, Wiltshire (Between the historic British cities of Bath and Salisbury).

NO TACKS, NUTS, BOLTS, NAILS OR SCREWS

Probably the safest of their kind on the market, or at any time in the past.

OUR SWORD AND BOW + ARROW DESIGNS HAVE BEEN INDEPENDENTLY SAFETY TESTED

Unlike many on the market that have been self-certified by the importer or manufacturer. Our unique rope guards protect a child’s hand from a glanced blow. Unlike all other guards, the rope will not snap or splinter in play. Our webbing handle, along with the rope guard, takes the impact and shock away from the child’s hand. Our large clear arrow stoppers are the safest of any toy arrow. All our products are CE Certificate of Europe safety tested.

SAFE PLAY

These toys are not suitable for children who are excessively physical when at play.

ONLY WOOD FROM THE FIRST WORLD IS USED

Always from managed, sustained forests. No one can say, without doubt, ‘wood from the third world is always from sustained managed forests’, so we never use it. We do not glue lengths of wood together to form cheap block wood, but always cut from solid natural-wood stock. Our Print and Paint projects use plywood because this is the safest wood for the job, but again our plywood is European Birch not cheap third world plywood.

ALL WOOD IS BATHED IN RAW LINSEED OIL

Then left to dry for up to three days. This means not only will the wood look good and last much longer, but periodical wiping with linseed or a vegetable oil will feed the wood and greatly prolong the toys life. Note: our Print and Paint shields are unoiled, as this would prevent Print and Paint.

Historic ToysWE ARE MEMBERS OF THE GUILD OF MASTER CRAFTSMEN

It is most difficult for toy makers to qualify as members, and so is most desirable. All our toy labels carry the Guild stamp.

WE ARE A FAMILY BUSINESS AND WE REALLY CARE

Put simply we give what we would expect, as parents and grandparents, for our children. We do our best and we are proud of what we do, an attitude often sadly missing in modern business.

TOYS MEANT TO LAST FOR YEARS AND YEARS

These toys are meant to last for years and years; destined to be the beloved childhood mementoes of tomorrows adults.

We are members of the British Guild of Master Craftsmen
